Ruby and Rails
Ruby was designed for programmer happiness, and Rails turned that into the most productive way to go from idea to a working web product: convention over configuration, an integrated ORM, background jobs, real-time features and deployment tools in one framework. Shopify, GitHub, Basecamp and many fintechs run on it.
Eleven parts in the shared language-course shape: basics; the object model and metaprogramming; memory, the GVL and YJIT; concurrency; idioms; tooling and testing; Rails end to end (Active Record, Action Pack, Active Job, Hotwire); Rails internals; performance; what Rails is paired with in production (Puma, Sidekiq or Solid Queue, PgBouncer, Kamal); and the ledger API capstone.
